Legendary for their durability, titanium frames generally have outlived the sizes and standards of the era in which they were built. As wider tires, belt drives, and other component changes have come on to the market or become the flavor of the day the owners of those trusty titanium frames require more clearance to maintain compatibility.

"POTATO CHIP" RETROFIT
The most direct and efficient way to create clearances is to simply remove the section of chainstay creating interference.

In this process we can cut clearance into the chainstays and close up with 'potato chip' welded in.

This procedure is applicable to both exterior clearance for belt- and chainrings and interior clearance for tires and has been performed countless times with no failures or other issues.
